Call for Papers: Special Issue on Early Childhood Development in Emergencies (Journal on Education in Emergencies)

The Journal on Education in Emergencies (JEiE) is preparing a special issue on Early Childhood Development (ECD) in emergencies. JEiE is seeking theoretical and empirical research articles that address any aspect of ECD in conflict or crisis contexts. In addition, field note submissions that present innovative tools or approaches related to ECD in emergencies, or observations and commentary on research work, are welcome. JEiE is also seeking for suggestions for books for review on these themes. Possible themes for papers include, but are not limited to:

  • Developmental effects of conflict, crisis, and disaster on young children and their families
  • Supporting and protecting families with young children during emergencies
  • Intersections among ECD and gender, race, ethnicity and culture
  • Early childhood learning approaches for crisis-affected populations
  • Peace education for conflict and crisis-affected populations
  • ECD policy and practice in emergencies
  • Effectiveness of ECD programming and implementation challenges

JEiE seeks submissions from all regions of the world. The deadline for submission of abstracts for comment concerning the manuscript’s suitability for inclusion in the JEiE special issue is September 1, 2019. Manuscripts have to be submitted until September 30, 2019 via PeerTrack, JEiE’s manuscript submission system.
